Low foaming surfactants, Alcohol EO/PO adduct
The history of low foaming nonionic surfactants began with the discovery that surface active substances can be obtained by addition of ethylene oxide (EO) to polymers of propylene oxide (PO). These block polymers based on propylene glycols were supplemented by ethylene diamine based EO/PO adducts. We extended our product range with alcohol ethoxylates modified by adding a well-defined amount of PO or end capping by a short alkyl chain.
These low foaming nonionic have excellent surface activity and most of them are ultimately biodegradable and not dangerous to the environment.
These products are all soluble in water, stable against water hardness and stable against acids and bases. They are mostly used as low foaming cleaning agents mainly for mild alkaline or neutral spray cleaners.

Copolymer EP 2584 is dispatched in polyethylene or corrugated steel, galvanized or carbon steel drums.
Shelf life: Copolymer EP 2584 is stable for 2 years when stored in the original sealed containers in a cool and dry place.
Precautions for safe handling
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid formation of dust and aerosols.
Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed.
Normal measures for preventive fire protection.
Conditions for safe storage
Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
Inhalation:
Remove victim from exposure to fresh air immediately, if not breathing, give artificial respiration; if breathing is difficult, give medical oxygen. Get medical aid immediately.
Ingestion:
Rinse mouth with plenty of milk or water (only if victim is conscious and alert). Get medical aid immediately.
Skin Contact:
If skin contact occurs, wash the affected area with plenty of water and a neutral soap for a minimum of 5 minutes.
Eye Contact:
If eye contact occurs, wash with plenty of clean water or amphoteric eye solution for a minimum of 15 minutes, holding the eyes open, medical advice should be followed.
The fields of application vary according to the cloud points of the products. In many technical cleaning processes and in some special household applications, like rinse aids in machine dishwashing, foaming has to be suppressed. Foaming and wetting are temperature dependent processes. To combine good wetting with low foaming, we propose to select surfactants or combinations of them with cloud points near to the expected operating temperatures.
